Born in Malacca, Malaysia, Sand T now resides in Malden, Massachusetts, USA. She completed her Graduate program at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Art with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in 1997. Currently Sand maintains an art studio in Malden, Massachusetts. Her working formats are painting, installation, 2D and 3D mixed media work. Sand has been actively creating and exhibiting her work for over two decades.
In 2000, Sand T created a new body of mixed medium work embedding Polaroid photographs, found imagery, multilingual printed text, sketches, drawings and various other materials with epoxy resin. She called this series the TRACES Series. The subject matter of her work ranges from dreamscapes to explorations of the various cultures which influence her personal life as well as her visual language as an artist.

REVISITING
"I often dream about my childhood places. I have heard that the recurrence of childhood places in your dreams reveal that you yearn to re-live those innocent times. With this thought in mind, and with wonderful memories of my childhood spent in Malacca, Malaysia, I created these compact visual models of my dreamscapes. Though I could not possibly illustrate real life experience or dreams in one body of work, I operate under the old saying: “Dream reveals reality, reality reflects dream”. I intend to create a compressed environment where I can revisit and reflect." - Sand T
